In this article, we’ll tell you why a Schirm-Bar is the perfect party tent, the challenges account manager Cindy faced last week, and why you should consider hosting your next event with us.
A Schirm-Bar as a session space?
Since our reopening in March this year, our beautiful Schirm-Bar has been standing proudly in our garden. We purchased this original Austrian bar in 2020, brought it to the Netherlands, and fully refurbished it to give it a second life. After a fresh coat of paint, appropriate decor, and a bit of love, the bar has found a lovely permanent spot in our garden.
Of course, this Schirm-Bar can also be booked as an event space! Last week, one of our clients used it as a session space, and another turned it into a cozy party tent. It has also hosted informal workshops, pub quizzes, and closing drinks. In short, the Schirm-Bar, with its versatile character, is a wonderful addition to our venue and for our clients.
Stage issues and Kris Kross Amsterdam
Every week, we ask a different colleague about their favorite moment of the week as well as their biggest challenge. This week, it’s account manager Cindy’s turn. We hosted some fantastic events this week, including a conference on discrimination and racism and a great company party with Kris Kross Amsterdam as the special act.
“My favorite moment this week was, without a doubt, the arrival of Kris Kross Amsterdam! Our client had planned an absolutely spectacular party, and they were the special act. The guests arrived at our venue in tour buses, which is a sustainable way of transportation. Our venue was beautifully decorated, and they had a custom 3D decor in the Event Hall. The evening was filled with amazing entertainment, but the highlight was, of course, Kris Kross Amsterdam. The atmosphere was fantastic!”
Despite our best efforts to ensure seamless preparation as an event venue, things can sometimes go awry. “The challenge this week was with another party night. We had built a stage on the stage in the Grand Hall, but it turned out to be too cramped for the crew and equipment. Fortunately, we discovered this in time and quickly coordinated with our staging colleagues. They were able to widen the stage so that everyone involved in the entertainment fit comfortably, ensuring the guests had a great evening.”

So far this month, 37 clients have organized their events with us. Some have been coming for years, while others are first-timers.
